Kyle Connor is another name i'd add to that list but you're spot on with Meier, he may very well be the target should the choose to move up.

I can't see Murray picking Guryanov though. Though we can't actually know who drafted who, he doesn't seem to have much of a history in drafting russians. Only one i can think of is Anisimov during his time with the Rangers (may not have been his choice though).

His situation reminds me a lot of what happened with Tarasenko. Not much out there on his commitment to the KHL or the NHL.

Another great write-up, Michael. I like Guryamov a lot - with playmakers like Eichel and especially reinhart, we could use a pure sniper. In saying that, Murray NEVER drafts Russians. If we keep 21 and 31, I see him drafting a D at 21 (Carlo, Chabot, Roy) and a Goalie at 31 - Samsonov (if there, who's also a Russian) or Blackwood.

Solid! I think guys like Meier and Konecny will be hot commodities this week but I'm not sure we have the firepower (21 and 31) to move up that far to get him. Guraynov is a nice player but imo stay away from the Russians.

a.) trade pick and a 2nd to move up even more, hopefully top 10
b.) trade pick for established player like ROR, Skinner, etc
c.) Wait and draft someone who hopefully falls (konecny, kylington, etc)
d.) draft a tender (blackwood, samsonov)

Also on the goalie front I rather go with anyone but Talbot. Has to be better ideas out there instead of a 27 year old who played well but had a solid d unit in front of him

if they are going after a few upper end free agents (ex. martin, sekera for the blue line, st louis, richards, willaims for the front) then trade the pick for a top 6 player that will be here for many years


if not package the pick with the seconds to get as high as they can to get a second franchise player in this draft

C.) but wouldn't be disappointed with A, B or D either. Will be exciting nonetheless - cool thing is after we pick Eichel, can't turn off the TV 'cuz anything could happen.
